The Gentle Use of Power

NUMEROLOGY

Numerology is a delightful way to obtain information regarding your own path in this lifetime.   It is apparent that our universe is very well organized
around basic patterns which are repeated throughout the cosmos. Each of us represents a specific aspect of that pattern while being connected to all aspects of creation.   It is our challenge in this life to accomplish what we came to learn and create.  Numerology offers us an easy system to obtain insights into “ Who Am I, Why Am I Here?”

A complete numerology assessment can include your life path, your destiny, your Soul’s path and your personality for this lifetime.   You can also find out what years and dates are most beneficial for you. Your life cycle report indicates the seven cycles in this lifetime and the lessons associated with each one.

You will also experience 4 time frames called Pinnacles which indicate important periods and the lessons associated with each one.   Each month day and year have a numerical equivalent.  Based on this you can determine the best time to move, have a relationship, change jobs, sell a home, etc.

Numerology contends that we are each born at a time when the planets are in a specific pattern which influences the conditions and experiences we will have.   To gain insight into our individual life path numerology simply adds together each number of our birth date and reduces the total to the smallest number.

Example:   Birthday:  Dec. 12, 1956 = 12 (month.)+12 (day of birth) +1956 (year) = 1+2 +1+2 +1+9+5+6 = 27=2+7=9
        (month)  (day)  (year)
This person will have a Number 9 life path .

Each life path has certain lessons to learn and gifts to give.  Each also has a high road (indicating the best choices you can make) and a lower path (poor decisions, addictions, areas in which you are vulnerable).  By getting a life path reading you can see in advance some of the possible pitfalls ahead as well as the strengths you have to rise above them.

In my experience everyone who has received a life path reading can resonate with the information.

This chart is used to gain information from the name given to you on your birth certificate.   This name contains vibrations which effect you. By using the corresponding number for each letter in your name you can add them up to receive information.

Example:   Birth name:   M  a  r  y   A n  n  J  o  h  n  s  o  n
                                          4+1+9+7+1+5+5+1+6+8+5+1+6+5=64 = 10=1+0=1

In Mary Ann’s case her 9 life path from her birth date indicates that this is a completion lifetime for her.  It is an opportunity to learn the lessons of compassion, forgiveness, generosity, service and the fine arts.  After learning all the lessons from 1 to 8 she can now release the past and be in this world but not of it.   This does not mean this is her last reincarnation but that she has desired to learn these specific lessons in this lifetime.

The total of the letters in her birth name indicate that her Destiny is to learn the lessons of the no. 1 journey.  One involves learning the lessons of individuality, independence, self-reliance, self-assertion, self development, leadership, innovation and the correct use of her will.  She needs to be careful not to become egotistical or arrogant.  She needs to learn to combine her human and Divine wills to co-create with higher energy.

The total of the vowels in her birth name indicate her Soul’s path is a 3.
She needs to express her creativity through the written and spoken word.
She is pleasant and can be charming.   She needs to guard against being too talkative.

The total consonants in her birth name show her personality is a 7.  This number indicates a deep thinker who enjoys researching and finding her own answers.  She requires some quiet time to assimilate all that she learns.  The challenge is to combine her heart with her head and to avoid over analyzing and judgment.

Notes on background of Numerology

The numerology chart I’ve displayed above indicating   numerical equivalents of the alphabet is a modern version of several methods which preceded it.

There has long been a belief that numbers were the building blocks of the universe.  Pythagoras, a Greek philosopher in the 6th century BC was, like Jesus, believed to be divinely conceived. He traveled to Greece, Egypt, Phoenicia, Syria, Babylon, Media, Persia and Hindustan.  He was initiated into the Eleusinian Mysteries, the Mysteries of Isis , the Mysteries of Adonis and the Mystical teachings of the Chaldeans.  In 525 BC he founded a religious/philosophical society in southern Italy known as the Pythagorean School in order to pass on his knowledge.  Pythagoras believed everything was built on the power of numbers and that number determined the harmonies of music and of the spheres as well as the movements of the sun, moon and stars.

The ancient Chaldeans, Egyptians, Assyrians, Babylonians, Greeks, Hindus and Hebrews all developed numerological systems of their own.   The Qabalistic Gematria  uses the twenty-two letters of the Hebrew alphabet and their corresponding numbers to decode hidden meanings in the scriptures as well as a person’s essential character and destiny.

Numerology incorporates the Pythagorean belief that all things can be expressed in numerical terms because everything is ultimately reducible to numbers.

In 1486 – 155 AD Henry Cornelius Agrippa , a philosopher and mystic of Netterheim   listed the meaning of the numbers one to nine in a text he wrote later in his life.  From Pythagoreah philosophies he calculated complex relationships between the harmony and proportions of man and the numbers which were associated with them.

Giuseppe Balsamo Cagliostro (1743-1795) used a numerology system based on the work of Agrippa and Pythagoras. He won large amounts of money in 1785 in Paris at the gaming tables and picking winning numbers at lotteries.   He also made some accurate predictions based on numerology including the beheadings of King Louis XVI of France and Marie Antionette. He was later condemned to life in prison by the Inquisition.

Eliphas Levi , an abbe of the roman Church who translated his name into Hebrew, was the one responsible for relating the twenty-two Major Arcana cards of the Tarot to the twenty-two letters of the Hebrew alphabet and the twenty-two paths of the Tree of Life.   This gave a new dimension to numerology.  In the 1890’s  The Order of the Golden Dawn was created by the Rosicrucians who expanded on Levi’s theories.

Aleister Crowley (1875-1947) formed a secret society, the Astrum Argentinum.   He designed his Tarot deck based on his system of correspondences that expanded the knowledge of numerology.  His deck is still used extensively.

Another prominent astrologer and numerologist , Count Louis Hamon (1866-1936) was very popular and did readings for Sarah Bernhardt, Dame Nellie Melba, the Infanta Eulalia of Spain, Mark Twain, Sir Arthur Sullivan and Sir Austen Chamberlain.
